Shanghai Blazes with Light
Now in its eighth year, World Jewelry Facets, the famous fashion jewelry traveling exhibition, continues to dazzle fashionable cities with displays of exceptional pieces designed by some of the most gifted creative talents on the planet.
On June 27, Shanghai Film Studios provided the spectacular backdrop to the eagerly anticipated 2017 exhibition: a space dedicated to the Shanghai’s illustrious cinema heritage was turned into a gallery to showcase drama of a different kind: show-stopping jewels made by designers in partnership with Swarovski.
With stunning one-off showpieces created purely for the event side by side with commercial collections exemplifying every conceivable aesthetic, the list of designers resembled a roll call of some of the legendary names of our time, together with new talents on their way to stardom. One key player from the world of couture whose work visitors were understandably keen to see was Karl Lagerfeld. His collaboration with Swarovski produced necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings, each meticulously crafted from superb materials embellished with brilliant crystals from Swarovski. Both Swarovski’s and Atelier Swarovski’s new Fall/Winter 2017/18 collections were also on view.
Local participants exhibited in addition to the World Jewelry Facets products demonstrated the depth of talent in the region, led by brands such as Alexandre Zouari, AOC, Aupres, Bull, Bulova, Changhong, Cina, Davena, Deep, Edor, Eral, Gdu, Italina, Kelly Yeung, Kymco, Mendale, Neoglory, Ninasun, Olanies, Only, PRSR, Riotlily, Riserva, SAB, Starbucks, Wang Peiyi, Wuliangye, Xuping Jewelry, Yadea, and Veecans.
